Stealing is a main mechanic in Grow a Garden 2. It allows players to take fruits from other players' gardens for completely free, making it one of the most significant new features compared to the original Grow a Garden, in which stealing costed or Tokens.
Overview
Once night arrives, the player will have two options: Steal, or Protect. To steal, go to another player's garden, and as long as the garden owner is not in their garden, the player can steal any kind of crop(s) from them, however, Bamboo and [[Mushroom|Mushrooms]] take 3 seconds to steal.
If the player wants to protect their crops, the player should stay in their garden; this will make it locked, preventing anyone from stealing from the player. There are also gears, plants, and builds that can help protect the garden.
This mechanic can commonly happen as the main objective at night, but can sometimes be replaced with another type of event that gives out seeds with special mutations or increases crop chances, etc. These replacements can sometimes distract players, letting the player easily steal from them without noticing.
If someone is in the process of stealing a player's crop, the player can hit them with the Shovel, to retrieve the stolen crop.
Trivia
- Stealing is completely free, no Robux required.
- In order to steal crops in the original Grow a Garden, players needed to pay or 37 Tokens.
- The player must bring the fruit back to their garden to receive it, and the teleport buttons will not be active when they begin the process of stealing a crop until the player returns to their garden. This prevents players from instantly teleporting to their Garden to keep the crop.
- You can tell if a player's garden is available for stealing once an unlocked icon appears on top of their garden.
- The game might have a movement anti-cheat, in order to stop exploiters from easily stealing crops, unlike the original Grow a Garden.
- This mechanic is very similar to the stealing mechanic inside the popular Roblox game "Steal a Brainrot".
